Each year, we feature a Business of Making Films seminar in which we showcase the business aspect of film making to young film makers. To this event we invite the professionals of the industry who have a lot of experience knowing what it takes to make it in this industry and who are willing to share their secrets as to how to get there and the tricks of their trade.

This year the seminar will focus on

Asian Film in the UK – the industry perspective

It will be in the BFI Delegate Centre. It is a seminar focusing on Asian Film in theUK, from the industry perspective.  Followed by Q&A and networking session.

PATRICK VON SYCHOWSKI : Head of Strategy (Global) for the Film & Media Services division of Reliance MediaWorks Ltd., prior to which he was COO – Digital Cinema for the company.

SHAHZAD NAWAZ: Producer Pakistani film industry

Last year the Business of Making Films event at SOAS was well attended and greatly appreciated. This event was chaired by Professor Rachel O’Dwyer, Professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema at SOAS. The key note speaker was Anusha Rizvi, followed by a panel discussion, with Sanjay Suri producer/actor of I Am, our opening film last year at the BFI Southbank, Sandy Lieberson, former President Wordwide Production at 20th Century Fox, Hamish Moseley, the vice President of Theatrical Sales from Momentum pictures, and Robert Walak, SVP Acquisition at Alliance films both of whom were involved in the Oscar-Winning film The King’s Speech.
