Based on actual events, Ramchand Pakistani is a moving story about a Pakistani
Hindu dalit boy and his father who accidentally cross the border into India from
their village in Pakistan at a time of extreme war-like tension. The film explores
how an 8 year old child from Pakistan learns to cope with the trauma of forced
separation from his mother while being held prisoner, along with his father in the
jail of a country, which is hostile to his own. On the other side of the border, the
boy's mother, devastated by their sudden disappearance builds a new chapter of
her life, by her solitary struggle for sheer survival. Ramchand Pakistani tells the
extraordinary consequences of this unintended action upon the lives of a woman,
a man, and their son.

BAFTA & TOF members require advance reservation for BAFTA screening.
