A young American boy, Roshan, of Indian origin accompanies his ailing
grandmother to India for the first time. She wants to retire and spend the last
leg of her life back home. In America, having lead a very western lifestyle
Roshan is not familiar with the sites and smells, the food and culture, the
religion and beliefs, this huge melting pot that is India. He thought that Dadi
had left her family and loved ones back in America, only to realize that how
wrong he was. The warmth and affection of the neighbourhood embraced him
with open arms. Amidst all this he meets the beautiful Bittu, who wants to
break free from the typical Indian social structure.
The story is told against the backdrop of the ancient walled city of Delhi who
is a character in herself. A microcosm of India, the city represents the chaos of
our land, its people, and their religion and their beliefs. The pin code of this
old city is 110006. With pride and love the locals call it Delhi-6.
