SILILARE

Durga, a boy from a rural village, lives with his widowed mother while training for his first traditional dance performance. His life changes after meeting Tekla, a kind, educated woman. Meanwhile, he becomes romantically involved with Kisagothami, whose complicated relationships, especially with a soldier named Ravi spark jealousy and conflict in the village. Ravi manipulates tensions into violence, leading to both his and Durga’s arrest, though Durga is innocent. Sent to a correctional center due to his age, Durga is later supported by Tekla and her son Johannes. Over time, Durga and Johannes form a deep bond, which is affirmed during Durga’s debut performance. As Kisagothami marries Ravi after becoming pregnant, Durga moves to the city, where he finds acceptance and a new life with Johannes and their families.
